Report Damage

Any time adverse weather damages your home, vehicle, or other physical property, please report that to the York County Office of Emergency Management. Reporting damage accomplishes a few things:

• County OEM is able to identify which parts of York County may need additional support
• Estimated costs are totaled and supplied to the PA Emergency Management Agency
  • Damage value totals are the factor used to determine whether a Disaster Declaration is appropriate, and when
  • Disaster declarations are what make FEMA Disaster Response Funds available
  • Municipalities may apply for reimbursement of disaster response / recovery expenditures as long as a Disaster Declaration has been published
  • Residents and businesses may also apply for FEMA funds if under a Disaster Declaration
  • Disaster Declarations also make some tax deductions and exceptions available to individuals and businesses
• Volunteer disaster recovery groups use these reports to coordinate providing recovery assistance to affected residents who want it

There is an online form for reporting damage to York County. The reporting form will guide you through supplying relevant information. The section where you may add photos contains some example line drawings of residence exteriors, but you may supply photos of anything that suffered damage, including vehicles, outbuildings, land, crops, and adjacent public infrastructure.
